The Emotional and Mental Causes for Chronic Fatigue

In my practice, I work a lot with people who suffer from low levels of energy. Some even experience chronic fatigue on a daily basis and are dealing with Fibromyalgia.

I too am no stranger to fatigue and have had my own share of it.

From doing thousands of medical intuitive readings and from my own experience, I have come to realize that the most common reasons for fatigue are not found in physical reasons only, but often stem from negative patterns of thinking and unresolved negative emotions.

Let me explain:

Usually, when it comes to fatigue we are trying to find the physical cause for it. Being trained as a medical doctor, I can totally relate and always suggest getting tested for undiagnosed thyroid issues, adrenal fatigue or chronic infections, like EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) or CMV (Cytomegalie Virus).

However, the test results often come back “normal” and you are told everything is fine, even though you are still exhausted.

This is usually the point at which people find me and decide to have a medical intuitive session. In a session, I always look into the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of a person to find the root cause for the fatigue.

What I have found is that fatigue stems primarily from two things:

Unresolved trauma and mental resistance to a person, situation, or even to life itself.

1. Unresolved Trauma

In energetic terms, we speak of an emotional trauma when the negative energy of the event is still stuck in your energy body. This can be the case even years after the event has occurred and is easily visible in a reading. Another indicator of stuck energy is when you think about the negative event and it still brings up a lot of negative emotions in you like grief, sadness, anger and overwhelm.

Sometimes, when remembering the event, it is not so much an emotion that you are experiencing, but a physical sensation like a tight stomach or pressure in the chest. These are all indicators that the trauma energy is still affecting you today because it has not been released.

Every Emotion is "Energy in Motion"

Since emotion is “energy in motion,” the energy of the event does not simply dissipate but stays within you until released. When you don’t, it starts accumulating and not only “clogs” your energetic channels and centers but greatly contributes to fatigue. Just like a clogged pipe, above the blockage will be extreme pressure while underneath the blockage will be a lack of energy. It’s the same within your body as the energy centers and energy channels in your body determine your state of emotional and physical health.

When you imagine how much energy it takes for your body to constantly hold these emotions inside of you, it is no wonder that unresolved negative emotions and trauma greatly contribute to fatigue.

Because these energies are only visible to someone who is intuitive and clairvoyant, it doesn’t come as a surprise that medical doctors usually don’t have an answer as to why you are suffering, because they are only concerned with your physical body and neglect to consider your emotions.

According to the CDC over 85% of all Illness are Related to Unresolved Negative Emotions

This is unfortunate as even the CDC (Center of Disease Control) states that 80% of all illnesses are related to stress. It’s also the reason why you are often told by medical doctors that you are healthy - even though you feel horrible - because they have overlooked the emotional aspects.

The Pathogen is Not the Problem

Of course, physical issues like chronic infections that your body has to battle are real. This also takes up a lot of energy. However, what most people don’t realize is that the pathogen is usually not the problem. It’s the immune system that can’t do its job properly.

In the example of Epstein Barr Virus or Lyme disease this becomes obvious. There is a huge percentage of people (for EBV up to 95%) who carry the virus but will never experience any health issues. This is because their immune system is strong enough to keep the virus or bacteria in check so that they don’t experience any symptoms.

For people who have experienced a lot of trauma in their life this is often not the case. Their bodies are so weakened from the internal stress from the unresolved trauma that their immune system does not have enough energy to keep the pathogen at bay. Here, the focus should be on making the body stronger not only by eating the right foods, exercising, having proper sleep and taking the right supplements, but most importantly, releasing negative emotions that weakened the immune system in the first place.

How to Release Negative Emotions

Today there are many ways you can release negative emotions quickly. Energy based healing techniques like Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Tapping are great as you can learn them yourself quickly. There are many free tutorials available on the Internet that will allow you to try them out for yourself. However, in talking to many people, I have found that sometimes you need to try out different techniques in order to find the one that works for you and that you feel comfortable with.

If you feel like you need extra support and want to work with a licensed therapist, I suggest finding someone who is trained in EMDR or AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy).

In my practice, I like doing Rapid Emotional Clearing, an energy based healing technique I have developed that uses consciousness and energy healing in order to clear trauma and negative emotions very quickly. If you are a good candidate for this healing method, trauma and negative emotions can be cleared within a few minutes. In fact, my clients are often surprised by how quickly it is possible to feel better.

2. Resistance to a Person, Situation, or even to Life itself.

Any time you think a thought (either consciously or unconsciously), you are producing chemicals in your body that correspond with an emotion. In other words, what you think determines how you feel. Most of the time, our thinking is so automatic and so unconscious that we often don’t know why we feel bad as we don’t realize our negative thoughts produced the negative emotions.

When it comes to fatigue there is often a pattern of negative thinking that greatly contributes to low levels of energy. This is called mental resistance.

Mental resistance means that you are opposed to the way things are. Maybe you hate your job, you dread the fact that you didn’t live up to your own expectations, you don’t like how your body looks, someone disappointed you and you wished things turned out differently, or you resist the fact that you are suffering from fatigue. This internal resistance to a situation, a person, or even yourself creates a huge inner conflict that takes up tremendous amounts of energy.

Resistance is often felt very physically. It can feel like inner tension, a weight that hovers over your head or a feeling like you can’t move forward.

How does resistance feel like for you?

Just close your eyes and think about something you resist and then notice what happens in your body. Maybe you even get a visual like a mountain that is in front of you or you feel like you are in a pressure cooker and it’s hard for you to breathe.

Your Body is Listening to Every Thought You think

It is important to understand that the pressure you feel from resisting only originates in your mind. When you think of something else, something that lifts you up and gives you joy, the internal pressure immediately lifts because your body listens to every thought that you think. Body and mind are not separated and are, in fact, one.

Since most of the time we are not aware of our thoughts, the tension can be there constantly because you simply don’t notice how many times you internally are saying “no” to a situation, person, or even life. This saying “no” is equal to resistance and takes up tremendous amounts of energy. Say internally “no” to your life a lot and you will end up with fatigue.

Start saying "Yes" and Your Life will Change

On the contrary, when you begin to accept and say “yes,” you will immediately feel better. The tension will lift and it will feel like you have more space around you. This is because when you drop resistance, the energies in your body can start to flow freely again. Simply try it out for yourself and first think about something that you are resisting. Notice how you feel. Now internally say “Yes” and notice the immediate shift of energy that occurs.

Saying “Yes” doesn’t mean you have given up or that you don’t take the necessary steps in order to improve your situation. It also doesn’t mean you suddenly like your situation. It simply means dropping your resistance to the way things are in the present moment. In that sense, it is really a spiritual practice.

By doing so, you are not only freeing yourself up, but you will also have much more energy to go about your day.

From my own experience in dealing with fatigue, I noticed that my internal resistance to a given situation was by far the most important factor that made me so weak. I realized this when I was meditating and my mind was still and the internal chatter stopped. Suddenly the resistance was gone, my body could relax and everything around me felt more spacious. Once I dropped the resistance the fatigue lifted.

Our minds are incredibly powerful and can be a huge source of healing but can also make us sick. Especially when our unconscious programs run the show and we are not even aware of the fact that we are standing in our own way to living a healthy, happy and fulfilled life.

How Meditation can help You Heal

This is the reason I am a big fan and advocate of meditating. Not only have thousands of studies shown that meditation improves the immune system, makes you calmer and more relaxed, happier and healthier, but it is really a way to learn how to deal with the ups and downs of life without being dragged into the drama so quickly.

Contrary to popular belief, meditating doesn’t necessarily mean you have to sit cross legged on a pillow and try to “not think.” Quieting the mind usually only happens after years of practice.

With Brainwave Entrainment Technology, You too can Easily Meditate

However, today everyone can get the benefits of meditation, even if you have zero experience. This is made possible through a wonderful technology called “Brainwave Entrainment” or “Binaural Beats.”

When you listen to a guided meditation that uses this technology as a background music, something wonderful happens: Your brain automatically and effortlessly shifts into the “Theta” and “Alpha” state. These are the brainwave states associated with deep relaxation, healing, intuition and insight.

Ask Yourself these Questions in order to gain Awareness and Change Resistance into Acceptance

When you are deeply relaxed, I suggest you ask yourself the following questions:

What am I resisting?

What am I internally saying “No” to?

What practical steps can I take in order to improve my situation while at the same time saying internally “Yes” to the situation as it is at the present moment?

What can I learn from the situation?

Contemplating these questions and then practicing acceptance of yourself, your situation and your life will make a huge difference in your ability to recover from fatigue and exhaustion.

Much love,
